SCREEENING

We conduct screening for diabetes and prediabetes, elevated cholesterol, elevated blood pressure, Atrial Fibrillation. We also calculate the 10 year risk for having a heart attack or stroke. The detailed description of the service is provided below.

BLOOD CHOLESTEROL (HEART DISEASE RISK FACTOR)

Helps to determine your risk of the buildup of plaques in your arteries that can lead to narrowed or blocked arteries throughout your body (atherosclerosis).

THE PROCESS

Finger disinfection and prick to obtain a drop of blood.

THE EQUIPMENT

The Alere Cholestech LDX® system.

FDA approved.

RECOMMENDED FOR

Men and women of 20 years or older.

PREDIABETES & DIABETES

The glycated hemoglobin test (Hb A1C) measures your average level of blood sugar over the past 3 months.

THE PROCESS

Finger disinfection and prick to obtain a drop of blood.

THE EQUIPMENT

The Alere Cholestech LDX® system.

FDA approved.

RECOMMENDED FOR

Everyone of 45 years or older.
For African American, Spanish, Asian, and Pacific Islander from 18 years and older.

ATRIAL FIBRILLATION

Atrial fibrillation, often referred to as 'AFib' is the most common heart irregularity, or cardiac arrhythmia that can increase your risk of stroke. AFib has strong associations with other cardiovascular diseases, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease (CAD), valvular heart disease, diabetes mellitus, and hypertension.

THE PROCESS

Comfortably seated with two fingers of each hand placed on a metal sensors. Immediate results through FDA-cleared algorithms provide actionable data that matter.

THE EQUIPMENT

FDA approved, clinical grade mobile EKG monitor.

RECOMMENDED FOR

People aged 60 and over to cut risk of stroke and death.

BLOOD PRESSURE

Your blood pressure measures the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries that carry blood from your heart to other parts of your body. If too elevated, it can increase your risk for stroke and heart disease.

THE PROCESS

We measure your blood pressure while you are seated comfortably for at least five minutes. The arm being used should be relaxed, uncovered, and supported at the level of the heart.

THE EQUIPMENT

The sphygmomanometer is the gauge which records the numbers that become your blood pressure.

RECOMMENDED FOR

Adults aged 18 years or older and for those who are at increased risk for High Blood Pressure: those who have high-normal blood pressure (120to 129/80 mmHg), those who are overweight or obese, and African Americans.

ASCVD RISKS

ASCVD stands for Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease, defined as a nonfatal myocardial infarction (heart attack), coronary heart disease, death or stroke. Risk calculation provides an estimated 10-year and lifetime risk for ASCVD.

THE PROCESS

We input the following data to ASCVD Risk calculator App: age, gender, race, Blood Pressure, Total Cholesterol, HDL Cholesterol, LDL Cholesterol, history of Diabetes, smoking habits, treatment for Hypertension, use of Statin and Aspirin medications.

THE EQUIPMENT

The American College of Cardiology ASCVD Risk calculator App is used.

RECOMMENDED FOR

ASCVD lifetime-risk calculation is recommended for people aged 20 to 59 years old.

ASCVD 10-year risk calculation is recommended for people aged 40 to 79 years old.
